A party time, if you have the nerve and on the nail can alter the look of its shape.

For starters, you can paint each nail a different colour, or go for a two-tone effect with stripes or spots. Make sure that one of the colours matches your outfit.

When wearing false nails and painting a picture or design, you can go all out and have them longer than the usual length. After all, the object is to be noticed.

Many companies produce brilliant colours in nail enamels—from fluorescent fuchsia and green to neon bright blue and glossy black. Some will need many coats to produce the density of colour you see in the bottle, and may be better if used over another colour. A pure white base is ideal to make the strong shades really glow.

In addition to painting shapes in various colour combinations, you can add a few special effects to the surface of the nail with the aid of some nail adhesive. A couple of shimmery sequins, a frosting of glitter or a tiny diamante stone at the centre tip of each nail provides a sparkling party-time look. 

PARTY NAILS may be fun, but you will still need the necessary base-coat under your polish to prevent staining. To apply colour in patterns, use a selection of the finest paintbrushes so that you can get the detail exact. Remember to use one brush for each colour, and clean them with polish remover. Try mixing a shimmer shade with a solid colour. Silver or gold looks great with any strong colour, and even black looks right if worn in combination.
