Sending Invitations And Replying

1. Nowadays, most formal invitations carry the RSVP fixture, as most people do not reply formally and in writing to invitations.
 
2. While replying to a formal invitation, write by hand, and in third person, using engraved personal or conservative stationery.
 
3. While sending a "regret" reply, you can say, "due to a previous engagement... "or "because of absence from city..."
 
4. Informal invitations are written on personal notepaper or on an informal correspondence card.
 
5. Though informal, yet they are written in third person, but less structured in form.
 
6. When replying, if there is a telephone number listed on the invitation, call to state your reply.
