1. Even a single-sentence letter can speak volumes about the person sending it, based on the way it looks.

2. A very expensive bond paper letter can be valuable to a friend or relative, but of trivial importance to the person with whom you are seeking a job.

3. A clean paper, crisply folded, and neatly filled with relevant details will speak better in your favour than costly stationery that is carelessly used.

4. The best stationery is made from rag cottons, but for letter writing, bond paper is the best.

5. A formal writing paper can be engraved or plain, and must be used for things like responding to formal invitations, or for condolence letters.

6. For informal and friendly correspondence, you can use light-coloured paper, or a paper which has a light printed or embossed background.

7. For business, your letterhead can carry the logo, name and address, with email, fax, etc. of the company.
