How to Meditate?

1. Sit in a comfortable position (you do not have to sit on the floor or in any particular posture). Sit on a chair with feet flat on the floor.
2. The body should be relaxed. Breathe in slowly and deeply and exhale slowly.
3. Concentrate on your breathing. This can be done by mentally observing inhalation and exhalation.
4. Repeat for 10 counts, you will find your mind grow calmer and body relaxed.
5. This exercise can lead to meditation, which is basically concentration of thought.
6. With eyes closed and concentration on breath concentrate your thought on anything or anyone that you wish. For example, you can concentrate on God, any aspect of nature.
7. Initially you may find the mind wandering, but bring it gently back to the object of your concentration.
8. Day by day you will find your power of concentration improve.
