Windows Firewall (Simple Settings) Part 1Added on:10/2/2008 1:37:00 AM In Windows Vista Tips Rated by 1 users
- So, if you just open the Windows Firewall Control Panel applet, you are going to be met with a simple screen that you could have just as easily found (with a whole lot more information about other security features) from your Security Center. Your information screen tells you whether your firewall is on, whether it’s working, how alerts are set, and which network location the firewall covers.
- Selecting the Change Settings option displays a three-tabbed dialog box. The tabs are General, Exceptions, and Advanced. Let’s go through these and see how they have changed or stayed the same with their XP SP2 counterparts. Seeing the two side-byside is what is going to really help you ease into the new Firewall tool. It’s not so scary.
