How Should I Dlegate My Work?

You have to learn to trust; because delegation can help you tackle routine, mundane, even boring activities on time. However remember that delegation is not akin to work shirking! It’s about quick work and quick results.


1. Anticipate the workload, classify and delegate work according to importance, time and a person’s capability.
2. Put instructions into writing so that you and your co-worker can refer to them.
3. Encourage your team to come up with ideas and solutions.
4. Support your co-workers; appreciate and give credit for a job well done.
5. Delegate work that does not require your personal attention or is not of confidential or contentious nature.
6. Evaluate the delegation process only once all tasks are complete. Remember that the results will speak and not necessarily the means.
