Choosing The Right Suit

• A good suit does not bulge at the shoulders; it stays smooth and even, without any unsightly bulge. Salesperson's assurance that this will be removed after ironing should not be taken for granted. Most often this never works.

• Check on the seams if they match the striped (if at all) design of the fabric. Make sure that the pattern is congruous and there are no crude, cut and fix jobs.

• Ensure that the suit has a smooth, satin underlining.

• Check on the quality of buttons, zippers and minor add ons to the garment. Be doubly sure that these are well fastened.

• Make sure that the pockets are deep and functional; no shallow basins please!

• Make sure that the collar fits snugly at your nape. If it hangs loose, probably the suit is not all that great after all!
