Birds demonstrate signs of illness only when it has advanced. Do bear to check with the vet in case your feathered pet demonstrates any of these signs:
• If a bird becomes nervous, defensive and fearful it is evidently reflected in their attitude to food as well. If the bird has changed meal habits it is a clear indication of illness. • A change in colour and volume of droppings could be yet another indication of brooding sickness. • In case there is a considerable `tone down' in bird activities be rest assured that s/he is not keeping well. • Increased irritability and less friendliness is an indication of ill health. • Ruffled feathers, closing eyes frequently and sitting low on the perch are indicators of poor health. • Fat is abnormal in birds. Keep a lookout for its occurrence.
