Dehydration

Drink plenty of fluids such was water, fruit juices and clear soups. Refrain from coffee, tea and alcohol. 

Avoid spicy and oily foods as well as dairy products. 

Make your own rehydration drink by mixing two teaspoons of sugar and half a teaspoon of salt in one litre of water. Or you can buy rehydration salts or salt solution from the pharmacy. 

Take over-the-counter diarrhoea medicines if the frequency of the diarrhoea causes inconvenience.


Its an emergency!
The diarrhoea continues or worsens after four days.
You keep vomiting
You are dehydrated.
Stools are black or there is blood in your stools.
There is severe and continuous abdominal pain.
