Evergreen shrubs and hedges should be planted before the cold weather sets in.
Deciduous trees and shrubs can be planted now, but not if the ground is wet or frosty. They are better heeled in until the weather improves.
Coniferous trees and hedges can go in nowor next month.
Check tree ties and ease any that are in danger of cutting into the bark. Azaleas and rhododendrons should be planted.
